"Celebrate, celebrate ... dance to the music ..."Three Dog Night, Suitable for Framing, 1969
Before calendars, people marked a new year by the flooding of a river; the run of salmon; the passing of the moons; changes of season; and by the motions of objects in the sky.
Births are celebrated. Unions, plantings, harvests, the return of the sun after the snows .. the dawn of a new day; arrivals; departures; sweet recognition, and so much more is celebrated.
Celebrating is fun! It has a positive effect in our lives: mentally, physically and emotionally. Celebrating is a way of saying "You mean something to me." "This is special." "I am aware of you."
What greater gift can we give to ourselves and others than awareness?
What more poignant and memory creating way to point our focus on them and say "I'm glad you exist"?
